EcoCash Monitor landing page: automated payment reconciliation straight from SMS

An independent product that reads EcoCash payment confirmation SMS, matches each transaction to the right order, sends receipts automatically and tracks payments in real time.

01

Context

In Zimbabwe, many businesses confirm EcoCash payments by reading SMS messages on a phone and ticking off orders by hand. We built EcoCash Monitor as an independent product to automate that step.

02

Design challenge

How do you turn unstructured payment SMS into reliable, matched records - and make the exceptions obvious instead of hidden?

03

What we built

  • Reading of payment confirmation SMS
  • Transaction parsing and matching to orders
  • Automatic receipts
  • Real-time payment tracking
  • Reconciliation views for matched and unmatched payments
04

Key decisions

  • Start from the SMS businesses already receive, rather than requiring a new payment setup
  • Unmatched payments stay visible until someone resolves them
  • Receipts only go out once a payment is matched
05

Boundaries

EcoCash Monitor is an independent build, not an official EcoCash product, and it is not presented here with customer results.

What this means for your business

  • →Workflow & tool integrations: EcoCash payment confirmations read and matched to orders without manual checking
  • →Automatic receipts, so customers get proof of payment as soon as it is matched
  • →A real-time dashboard of paid, unmatched and outstanding payments - the end-of-day reconciliation done as you go

What this build shows

  • Mobile money workflows
  • SMS parsing and matching
  • Exception-first reconciliation
  • Africa-specific product design
